Typically, these sorts of resort rankings should be taken, at best, with a few massive snorts of salt. But I find that Lucas Catania–who, even alongside other skier-entertainers who live on the road, enjoys a gratuitously long ski season–has managed to whip together quite a reasonable ranking this year. Generally consistent throughout, the top 5/10 seem to makes sense, and Snowbird at 1 is likely still deserved. In my opinion, it’s nice to see Kicking Horse at 2 as well, since the terrain there is pretty unbelievable. I would have liked to see where Big Sky would’ve landed, especially given the introduction of the tram fee, but it seems Catania didn’t make it there (understandably, as to have visited 32 resorts in one season is absolutely ridiculous already and frankly pretty uncalled for).
Also, it’s pretty close to 2am right now.
